About

AtlasBase (formerly Atlas Data) builds a hybrid bio-silicon platform that encodes information into synthetic DNA rather than magnetic or flash storage. Its Molecular Data Storage product writes data into DNA sequences, dehydrates them into a powder, and seals them in a capsule roughly 7mm by 18mm that the company says can hold a petabyte and last for centuries with zero power or maintenance — aimed at archival use cases like film and cultural-heritage preservation, scientific and pharmaceutical research records, and long-term AI training data retention. A second product, Molecular Computing, encodes computational problems directly into DNA molecules so that millions of possibilities can be evaluated simultaneously inside a chemical reaction, using far less energy than silicon-based computing for the right kind of problem. The company introduced its first commercial product, the Atlas Eon 100 — described as the world's first scalable DNA-based data storage service — in December 2025, and was selected by TSMC to present in the Innovation Zone at its 2026 Technology Symposium. It raised a $155M Seed round in May 2025 and announced a strategic partnership and investment from imec, the Belgian nanoelectronics research institute, in March 2026. Leadership includes CEO Jeff Treuhaft, founder and CTO Bill Banyai, and COO Siraj El Ahmadi.
